There are 9 main systems of Yoga from India.
  • Jnana Yoga (union by knowledge) this is the path of spiritual knowledge and wisdom, intellect which lead the man to see hid true self.
  • Bhakti Yoga  (union by love and devotion) this is yoga of strongly-focused love,  devotion and worship at its finest in love of the one
  • Karma Yoga (union by action and service) this is the path of selfless action and service, without thought of the fruit of action.
  • Mantra Yoga (union by voice and sound) this yoga influences consciousness through repeating certain syllables, words, or phrases.
  • Yantra Yoga (union by vision and from) yantra yoga employs sight and from. It can be an objective picture, an inner visualization, or the design of a temple.
  • Laya and Kundalini Yoga ( union by arousal of latent psychic nerve-force) These combine many of the techniques of Hatha Yoga with intense meditative concentration to awaken the psychic nerve-force latent in the body."
  • Tantric Yoga (a general term for physiological disciplines. Also union by harnessing sexual energy) this path is control of sexual energies has a permanent part, and the union of male and female.
  • Hatha Yoga (union by bodily mastery (principally of breath)) central to all Hatha Yoga disciplines is the regulation of breath. Its best known feature is posturing. Asana which now mean a yogic posture. Hatha yoga may be viewed as a hygiene which takes into account the purification of the total organism.

  • Raja Yoga (union by mental mastery) this path is a direct work of mastering consciousness and still thought so as to become aware of the ground of being and it includes Hatha Yoga within its system.
